Variants

Size and color are child products. Each has its own barcode and its own stock.

The parent (the shirt, not “shirt / medium / blue”) does not appear on the sell grid. Staff sell the child SKU.

  1. Create the parent product if you need a shared name.
  2. Create each size or color as its own product, with its own SKU, barcode, price, and stock.
  3. Link the child to the parent. In a CSV this column is parent_sku.

Scanning the parent barcode will not ring a sale. Print labels for the children. See Barcode labels.
